Cúram: (noun) care, solicitude, responsibility
pronounced coo-rahm, translated from Old Irish
Curam was established in 2020. The word Curam is Gaelic, bowing to the wisdom of my Irish ancestors who have come before me and support me in this work. I began my path of devotion to my ancestry in 2020 after reading Ressma Menakem’s book My Grandmother’s Hands and hearing his call for white-bodied people to dismantle internalized racism by reclaiming ancestral roots.
Who is Curam for?
Curam is a space for those yearning to be witnessed and supported in transformation. I work with artists, queers, trans-folks, adults, adolescents, elders, and those desiring support in their journey.

Sliding Scale
I believe that mental health and adjunct services are preventative and restorative healthcare that everyone should have access to. I offer sliding scale for a limited number of clients, those in need. In addition, I offer payment plans. Contact me for more information.
My sliding scale is not “pay what you want”; it is pay what you can, based off of your economic status. Sliding scale pricing allows individuals that have less income and economic status to pay a lower rate for offerings and services.
If you have the means and access (ie you have generational wealth, family support during emergencies, a saving account and/or are able to cover all your basic expenses with funds left over for wants), I encourage you to value these offerings accordingly.
Out of Network Coverage
I will provide superbills (itemized receipt) for all clients who request them. Depending on your out-of-network coverage, you are likely to have a portion of your services with me covered as an out-of-network cost. Usually this looks like paying upfront, submitting superbills of our sessions to your insurance company and the insurance company will cut you a check to reimburse you for their part. Every insurance has different policies. I am happy to provide you with more information about what questions to ask your insurance company to determine coverage.
Questions to ask your Insurance about out of network coverage:
• Does my plan provide reimbursement for out-of-network mental health care with a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of New Mexico?
• Do you cover CPT codes such as 90837 or 90834?
• If so, is there a separate deductible?
• What percentage of out-of-network costs does my plan cover?
• Do I need pre-authorization for out-of-network services?
• Is there a limit to the number of sessions that will be reimbursed per year?
• How do I submit for out-of-network reimbursement?
Financial Values
Please note that I have thought long and hard about my fee as someone who works within a liberation lens and aims to dismantle my own internalized capitalism. It is a difficult dialectical balance trying to make myself economically accessible while also balancing value for my own work and time. Therapy rates can seem high, but they reflect the costs I have to absorb to maintain my practice. In addition to paying individual taxes and credit card fees, I have to pay for my own health insurance, telehealth platform, liability insurance, licensing fees, and continuing education courses required to maintain my license.
