If you’ve read through my website and think we would be a good fit you can go ahead and fill out a contact form. After that I will reply to you based on if I have spots available and then I will send you an intake eligibility form. This form has a couple of questions that will help me get to know you and also clarifies for me if I would be a good clinical fit for your needs. Once you fill that out, if I have space available for a new client, we can schedule a free 15-minute consult where I answer your questions and ask you a little bit more about what you are looking for. After that, depending on what we both decide, we will schedule a first assessment session. The consult is less an assessment and more of a “getting to know you” meeting. The assessment is where I formally ask you questions about symptoms and what you would like to work on to determine next best steps in the process. Sometimes we will both think it’s a good fit and get started scheduling sessions and other times one of us may find that there are reasons not to move forward, in which case I will provide you a referral. Occasionally after an assessment I might tell you that I don’t have the clinical training in something you want to work on or find that you need a higher level of care and will refer you to the right clinician and/or level of care.

Clients are expected to attend every appointment or cancel with at least two days notice (a full 48 hours) prior to appointment.
I offer one free short notice (less than 48 hours) cancellation, after you have established care, regardless of reason for cancellation. These cancellations are meant for needing to cancel due to illness, emergencies, childcare issues, etc. I understand, life happens!
After a client uses their one free cancellation or no-show’s to an appointment, they will be charged the full session fee. This amount will be charged automatically based on the cancellation policy. NOTE: Those with Medicaid as their primary insurer will not be charged these fees.
If you know that you will need to miss a therapy session, please plan as far in advance as possible. I am happy to plan with you and create a schedule for therapy that is sustainable for you.

I operate based upon an anti-oppressive sliding scale fee structure that is built around my standard rate of $125 per session. Since everyone’s financial situation is different, I provide a limited number of slots at several different fee tiers. I invite you to review my sliding scale fee structure guide here.
I am not in-network with insurance. I am an out-of-network provider, so I am able to provide you with the documentation that you need to seek reimbursement from your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits.

Please note that I have thought long and hard about my fee as someone who works within a liberation lens and aims to dismantle my own internalized capitalism. It is a difficult dialectical balance trying to make myself economically accessible while also balancing value for my own work and time. Therapy rates can seem high, but they reflect the costs I have to absorb to maintain my practice. In addition to paying individual taxes and credit card fees, I have to pay for my own health insurance, telehealth platform, liability insurance, licensing fees, and continuing education courses required to maintain my license.

Soon! I am curretly in the process of becoming credentialed to accept Medicaid, BCBS, and Presbytarian in the state of New Mexico.
At the time I can provide you with a Superbill after Self Pay sessions. A Superbill is a pathway to seeking reimbursement from one’s insurance company, if they accept out of network providrs.

Here are some questions to ask your insurance company to see if you have out of network coverage and what coverage looks like for your plan:
• Does my plan provide reimbursement for out-of-network mental health care with a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of New Mexico?
• Do you cover CPT codes such as 90837 or 90834?
• If so, is there a separate deductible?
• What percentage of out-of-network costs does my plan cover?
• Do I need pre-authorization for out-of-network services?
• Is there a limit to the number of sessions that will be reimbursed per year?
• How do I submit for out-of-network reimbursement?

Nope! Anyone and everyone can benefit from seeing an art therapist. Every therapy session is unique to the person and their needs. My style of art therapy is grounded in the belief that every person is inherently creative.
-
I do not offer in-person sessions at this time. I exclusively offer virtual sessions via a HIPAA-compliant video conference platform. This may change in the future, and there is an option to meet outside, weather permitting.

No. Art therapy is a form of therapy and psychotherapy that can be deeply meaningful for people of all ages and experience levels. It is a common myth that art therapy is “only for children”.

I currently work with those 14+. In the state of New Mexico 14 is the age of consent and a Release of Information is needed for me to coordinate with caretakers/parents.
